Recreating History At Eastbourne
	Early settlers in Wellington used to travel to Eastbourne each weekend for their rest, and recreation. This seaside community was a haven from the city with tea rooms, a pier, and bush tracks to enjoy. Particularly popular was the walk to Butterfly Creek - a picnic area, and swimming hole - across the ridge from Eastbourne Township. Ladies of the day would climb the steep hill in long dresses, stopping at the Kiosk for refreshments.

Nowadays the track has become deeply rutted, and difficult to pass in some places. This summer Greater Wellington Regional Council are busy rebuilding this with the help of equipment from Pronto Hire.


The view may have changed, but Eastbourne is still a favourite escape from the Capital City. The team at Pronto Hire are proud to be involved in returning the historical Butterfly Creek track to it's former glory.
